Blessings, Nhyira

Nhyira is happy to sell our clutches and earrings and bring a unique take on Ankara prints to the masses!

My roots and inspiration for these accessories come from the time I spent working and traveling around Ghana learning from the women who learned from the women before them and so it goes. My time with them inspired me to make my own handmade creations (either in Ghana or in Vancouver, Canada) using authentic Ghanaian Ankara fabric.

Nhyira means ‘blessing’ in Twi (Ghana, Africa)

Ankara print fabrics are made through an Indonesian wax-resist dyeing technique called Batik. In this technique, methods are used to “resist” the dye from reaching all the cloth, thereby creating a pattern.
